West Lake Dragon Well, also known as Longjing tea, is a famous variety of green tea that is grown in the West Lake area of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, China. It is renowned for its unique flavor, aroma, and appearance.

Dragon Well tea is made from the leaves of a specific cultivar of the tea plant, known as Camellia sinensis var. sinensis. The leaves are harvested in early spring and then pan-fired by hand to stop the oxidation process and preserve their natural green color and fresh taste.

Premium West Lake Dragon Well tea has a delicate, mellow flavor with a hint of chestnut sweetness and a lingering floral aftertaste. The leaves are flattened and have a distinctive, sword-like shape, with a pale green color and a smooth, glossy surface.

The tea is rich in antioxidants and other beneficial compounds, and is believed to have a range of health benefits, including promoting relaxation, improving digestion, and boosting the immune system.

To brew a perfect cup of West Lake Dragon Well tea, use water that is around 80°C (176°F) and steep the leaves for around 2-3 minutes, depending on your taste preferences. The leaves can be brewed multiple times, with each infusion bringing out different flavors and aromas.
